Lauki Kofta Recipe - Gourd Kofta Recipe

Ingredients for Lauki Kofta:

Lauki or gourd - 01kg, 
Gram flour (roasted) - 02 tbsp, 
Onion paste - 02 tbsp, 
Green chilli paste - 01 tsp, 
Ginger garlic paste - 02 tbsp, 
Red chilli paste - 01 tsp, 
Turmeric powder - 01 tsp, 
Coriander powder - 02 tsp, 
Tomato puree - 1/2 cup, 
Cumin seeds - 01 tsp, 
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp, 
Finely chopped coriander leafs - 02 tbsp, 
Oil - 150 ml, Salt - to taste.

How to Make Lauki Kofta:

Peel, wash and grate the gourd. Now cook it for 5 minutes in a covered pan. The cooking make the gourd soften.

Now squeeze the extra water from grated lauki. Add 1 tsp of green chilli paste, 2 tbsp of roasted gram flour, and few salt. Mix it well and prepare a dough. Divide the dough in equal part and make small and smooth balls. 

Now heat the oil in a pan and deep fry the kofta bolls. When all the balls will get golden brown keep aside. Take a pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil and add cumin seeds.

When the cracking started add ginger garlic paste to the oil, stir it well when the paste gets brown add onion paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt to taste. 

Now cook the spices for 4-5 minutes. When the oil comes out from the mixture add 1/2 cup of tomato puree. Cook for 2 minutes. Now add 2 cups of water and cook on medium flame for 5-6 minutes. Now add deep fried lauki kofta in the gravy, cook for 2 minutes on simmer. 

Now turn of the gas and take out your lauki kofta in a serving dish. Garnish with chopped coriander leafs and serve it with chapati, puri or steamed rice.
