Coconut Burfi is a traditional recipe in India. It is mainly prepared during festivals like holi or Diwali. Fresh coconut gives this dish a soothing taste as well as softness. It can be stored and refrigerated easily. 


Coconut Barfi Recipe - How To Make Coconut Barfi

Ingredients for Coconut Barfi:
Grated coconut - 100 gram,
Mawa or khoya - 200 gram,
Sugar - 200 gram,
Pistachios - 20-25,
Raisins - 20-25,
Cardamom seeds crushed - (5-6 pieces),

How to Make Coconut Barfi: 
Take a pan and on medium flame fry the mawa till it gets light brown. Now we will prepare the sugar syrup. For this take a sauce pan and mix water (1/2 cup) and sugar, stir it frequently on medium flame.

Cook the syrup till the consistency reaches on 3 string. To check the consistency of syrup, take 1/2 cup of chilled water and put few drops of syrup into the cup, if the drops cum up and floats on the surface, its mean the syrup is ready, if not, so cook it for 1-2 minutes.

When the syrup is ready, turn off the gas and add crushed coconut, fried mawa and crushed cardamom. Mixed it well. Now the Coconut Barfi is ready to set. Take a trey and greased it well, you can take the help of brush.

Put mixture in the trey and spread the mixture in a same level. Sprinkle finely chopped Pistachios and raisins. Press slightly with plane bottom pot and leave it to get cool and set.

After this run the sharp knife and cut the mixture in your favorite shape and size. Your Coconut Barfi is ready now. If you want to store it keep in a airtight container.
